Just asking because not only did he play Omar on The Wire, he also played a gay man on Hap and Leonard. He seemed to be very convincing in both roles. I was just wondering if it was based on personal experiences. According to his memoir Scenes from My Life, he was hetero but had LGBTQ friends.
